From the State House to STEM success—our 4-H’ers have been on a roll! 💚🍀

On March 11, our students proudly represented Georgetown County at 4-H State Legislative Day, engaging with leaders and learning the power of their voices. Then on March 17, they put their creativity and problem-solving skills to the test at the 4-H Engineering Challenge!

We’re proud to celebrate their accomplishments:

We are proud to announce that we have 18 new published authors at CBMSA! Our students have created short stories that have been published in Fright Club: Lost in the Darkness, presented by Young Writers publishing company. Our authors will be featured in our upcoming Literacy Family Night on March 31st from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. We will have special guest, Marlanda Dekine, Georgetown's Poet Laureate facilitate an exciting reading and conversation with our young authors.

There will be a Sources of Strength Parent and Community Night on Thursday, March 19th 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Georgetown County School District administration building on 2018 Church Street in Georgetown.
Sources of Strength is a best practice, evidence-based suicide prevention and mental health promotion program. They provide exceptional training and curriculum for both youth and adults, using a Strength-based, upstream approach to prevent adverse outcomes like suicide, violence, bullying, and substance misuse, while promoting resiliency, help-seeking, healthy coping, and belonging.

Auditions are coming up for the Summer BEACH Visual Art, Choral Music, and Drama programs!

Students who will be rising 6th–12th graders are invited to audition on Tuesday, April 14 at Georgetown Middle School.

For audition preparation:
• Art: Bring 4 artwork pieces, complete a drawing, and participate in a short interview
• Drama: Perform a 2–3 minute monologue, oral reading, or verbal improvisation
• Music: Perform a solo and complete a simple rhythm exercise

Hello CBMSA Bear Families! 🐻

This is a friendly reminder that Wednesday, March 11 is an Early Dismissal Day. ⏰

Carvers Bay Middle STEAM Academy will dismiss at 1:15 PM, so please make plans to receive your Bear(s) a little earlier than usual tomorrow.

On Thursday, 8th grade families are invited to visit Carvers Bay Early College and Career High School to learn about course offerings and the registration process at 6pm.

On Friday, we will celebrate Pi Day! Students can pay $2 to pie a teacher in the face. Students will also be able to pay $1 for slices of pie during lunch. Let's have some Pi Day fun!

Starting tomorrow students will be able to pay $5 to attend the March Madness Basketball activity scheduled for March 20th during 6th period. Students can purchase wristbands during lunch from Beta Club members. If a student wants to play on a March Madness team then their fee is only $3.

National Beta is proud to announce Carvers Bay Middle Steam Academy Junior Beta Club as a recipient of the 2025-2026 John W. Harris Leadership Award. Named in recognition of Beta’s founder, John Harris, this award celebrates clubs that exemplify Beta’s four pillars: achievement, character, leadership and service.

Clubs were nominated by their Sponsor through an online application process and evaluated by the Alumni Review Committee. From an impressive pool of nominations, the committee selected the top five clubs in each division based on their demonstrated impact within their schools and communities.

Award-winning clubs will receive the opportunity to send ten free members to the Regional Leadership Summit of their choice the following year, where students will further develop their communication, collaboration, and leadership skills alongside peers from across the country.

Monday (3/2) — Adventure: explorers, pirates, mountain climbers 🌍
Tuesday (3/3) — Humor: silly outfits, mismatched clothes & crazy socks 🤪
Wednesday (3/4) — Sci‑Fi/Fantasy: aliens, wizards, superheroes 🚀🧙‍♀️
Thursday (3/5) — Animal Stories: dress as animals, zookeepers, vets 🐾
Friday (3/6) — Sports: jerseys and athletic gear ⚽🏀

Join us as we celebrate culture, legacy, and excellence at Carvers Bay Middle STEAM Academy’s Black History Month Program: From Roots to Radiance – Black History Across the Eras.

Our students will honor the past and showcase their talents through band and dance performances, poetry, and special presentations that highlight the strength, resilience, and brilliance woven throughout Black history. This program is a reflection of our commitment to empowering the present while inspiring the future.
