Due to expected inclement weather as a result of Hurricane Debby, and in consultation with Georgetown County Emergency Management and the National Weather Service, Tuesday, August 6, Wednesday, August 7, and Thursday, August 8 will be eLearning Days for Georgetown County School District. All schools will be closed. All after-school activities, programs and athletics are canceled for Tuesday, August 6, Wednesday, August 7, and Thursday, August 8.  Information about student learning and teacher expectations on designated eLearning days is available at the GCSD Technology Resource Center.  Virtual Office Hours for teachers are: Elementary Schools: 8:30a.m. - 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. - 2 p.m. Middle and High Schools: 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.  All other school employees are expected to work from home to the extent possible. Please communicate with your supervisor for specific questions.  Students in Pre-K - 5th grade will receive learning packets. Students in grades 6-12 will be assigned lessons through Google Classroom. Teachers should post assignments no later than 8 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6. In order to be marked present for the eLearning days, students must turn in their assignments no later than Wednesday, August 14.  In the event there are power or Wi-Fi outages, extensions to the due date will be announced.  GCSD district administration will continue to monitor conditions across our county, and a follow-up notification will be sent on Thursday, August 8.
