The Windtalkers Speech and Debate team competed in their first Novice (JV) tournament on Saturday, September 23rd at Riverside High School in Greer.
The team took the second place overall placing out of 12 teams in attendance. The following individuals awards were given:
Lilie Danysh: First place, Children's Literature
Lillian Daub: Second place in BOTH impromptu speaking and extemporaneous speaking.
Jack Hopkins: First place in BOTH impromptu speaking and extemporaneous speaking.
Tia Jones: Fourth place in Oral Interpretation and sixth place in impromptu speaking
SK Kopp: Fifth place in impromptu speaking
The team is coached by Ree Lawson with assistance by Tiffany Nicastro.
The Windtalkers are preparing for their first varsity tournament in North Carolina, coming up on October 7th.
