Healthy Learners is a non-profit organization that partners with school nurses and local medical providers to offer access to health care to children who are in need and without resources. Cost for health care services, transportation, and follow-up are paid for by Healthy Learners. All referrals to Healthy Learners are facilitated directly by GCSD school nurses.

Breakfast with the Bands of Waccamaw - Saturday, February 1st.
This is a great chance for our community, younger students, and families/friends to grab some pancakes while hearing our students perform in a fun setting. For many of our youngest band students, this is their first chance to perform in a small group in public! This is a great opportunity for students K-5 to see band students perform as they consider it in the future. Please see the attached flyer for details.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our brand-new K-Kids Club Charter! This special club features selected 3rd-grade students who will work together to learn the value of service & spread kindness throughout our school and community.
A big shout-out to Mrs. Sarah Rodenbeck, our dedicated 3rd-grade teacher, for stepping up as our K-Kids Advisor. We’re also incredibly grateful to Frank Holsclaw and the Kiwanis Club of Pawleys Island for sponsoring this wonderful initiative. 🙌
💡 What is K-Kids Club?
K-Kids Club provides young students with the opportunity to start their service journey. From understanding the needs of their school and community to developing key life skills like teamwork, communication, and empathy, this program equips students to make a real difference.
By planning and completing acts of kindness, our K-Kids will learn how to lead, collaborate, and create meaningful change—all while practicing compassion and discovering their unique talents. We can’t wait to see the amazing acts of kindness our K-Kids have planned in the coming months. 💙✨

The Bunnelle Youth Board is hosting "A Night at the Movies" Trunk or Treat event tomorrow October 26, 2024 from 4-6 p.m. in the parking lot of the JB Beck Administration and Education Center. Costumes are encouraged but not required.

Registration is open tackle football. Cost is $50 to participate for ages 9-12, and registration closes on Oct. 9th.
On Wednesday, Waccamaw Elementary Students & Staff will wear Red, White, & Blue in honor of Patriot Day, in remembrance of September 11, 2001.

All GCSD schools and offices will resume normal operations, including after-school activities, on Friday, August 9, 2024.
Due to expected inclement weather as a result of Hurricane Debby, and in consultation with Georgetown County Emergency Management and the National Weather Service, Tuesday, August 6, Wednesday, August 7, and Thursday, August 8 will be eLearning Days for Georgetown County School District. All schools will be closed.
All after-school activities, programs and athletics are canceled for Tuesday, August 6, Wednesday, August 7, and Thursday, August 8.
Information about student learning and teacher expectations on designated eLearning days is available at the GCSD Technology Resource Center.
Virtual Office Hours for teachers are: 8:30a.m. - 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. - 2 p.m.
Students in Pre-K - 5th grade will receive learning packets. In order to be marked present for the eLearning days, students must turn in their assignments no later than Wednesday, August 14.
