Mrs. Gaster's students are diving into history by exploring immigration through a video on Ellis Island! Using the "Give One, Get One" activity and two-column notes, they shared what they learned and engaged in meaningful discourse with their classmates.
From discovering what life was like in steerage to learning about the “kissing post”, where families reunited, students collaborated by adding new insights from their peers.
By using these strategies, they’re not only gaining knowledge but also building essential soft skills like communication, collaboration, and critical thinking!
