GCSD Families -
In an abundance of caution due to expected inclement weather, including severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and possibly strong tornadoes, all GCSD schools and facilities will be CLOSED on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. All school activities, including athletic events and practices, scheduled for Tuesday, January 9 are canceled/postponed.
GCSD is an approved eLearning district; however, because we are returning from Winter Break, a decision has been made to schedule eLearning for Tuesday, February 20, 2024. This will allow time for schools and teachers to plan instructional activities and ensure that students have needed devices. Specific instructions will be communicated to students and parents from their students’ teachers and schools regarding assignments. All assignments must be completed and turned in by Wednesday, February 28, 2024, in order for a student to be marked present for the eLearning day.
GCSD district administration will continue to monitor conditions across our county. We expect a return to normal operations on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. Please check local media, the district website, and our social media page for the latest information on school closings or delays.
Some throwbacks to an epic end of year celebration for the House of Isibindi, our End of Year Superlative Recognition, and…..the announcement of the 2023-2024 House Leaders!!
💙💚❤️🖤 Fast forward to yesterday and a great work session with the House Leaders. They came in off their summer break to work on plans for next year and to discuss what they think is so important for their peers to learn to be successful at school and in life. Their leadership should make us all proud that they are representing MES!

During Teacher Appreciation Week, May 8 - May 12, we celebrated the exceptional educators working all around our district. Our celebrations would not have been successful without the support of our PTOs, PTAs, student groups, school groups, community groups, churches, civic organizations, and local businesses.
