For Immediate Release
(Georgetown, SC) In an abundance of caution due to flooding and debris resulting from the nor’easter moving through our area, all GCSD schools will have an eLearning day on Monday, December 18, 2023. This means all schools and facilities will be closed on Monday.
GCSD is an approved eLearning district, so Monday, December 18 will not have to be made up. Specific instructions will be communicated to students and parents from their students’ teachers and schools regarding assignments. All assignments must be completed and turned in within three school days (Thursday, December 21, 2023) in order for a student to be marked present for the eLearning day.
At this time, if conditions allow, athletic practices and competitions may resume on Monday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. Student-athletes are encouraged to coordinate with their coaches for specific details.
GCSD district administration will continue to monitor conditions across our county. We expect a return to normal operations on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. Please check local media, the district website, and our social media page for the latest information on school closings or delays.
