Our KES 2nd and 3rd Grade students did a fabulous job with their Holiday Program, "Elflandia", under the direction of our music teacher, Dr. Marshall.
Be sure to make plans to attend our KES Holiday Program on December 18th.
2nd Graders will be performing at 8:30 and 3rd graders will be performing at 9:30.
KES K-Kids are collecting toys to donate to Toys for Tots. Donations are being collected in the front office. All donations are due on December 15th.
Congratulations to those who have completed the "Fall Into Reading" reading challenge in BeanStack. They have read 300 or more minutes from October 1st through November 30th. Be sure to have your child use the Bean Stack app to read at least 10 minutes every day. A flyer went home over a month ago with details. Check with your child's teacher or Mrs. Ford in the library for more information on BeanStack.
Beginning on Monday, December 2nd, walkers will be dismissed at 2:30pm.

What a great night at our KES Fall Festival & Literacy Night. We had lots of fun literacy games, a cake walk, BINGO, pizza, popcorn, and food trucks. Our students had a fun night with their families!

Today, 2nd Graders in Mrs. Ryals' (and intern, Mrs. McClellan) put on their chef hats and became Author’s PIE experts! 🍰 After learning about author’s purpose, they whipped up some fun as PIE chefs—deciding why authors write. Proud of these readers and writers! 📚✨
United to Read Day! Thank you to the wonderful United Way Volunteers who visited classrooms at KES to read the book, "The Sour Grape" to our students. We appreciate you!
Kensington Elementary 4th graders put on a great Veterans Day program under the director of Dr. Marshall. They sang several Patriotic Songs and students shared facts about Veterans Day. Students sang the "Armed Forces Medley" as Veterans in attendance were asked to stand for the song for their Branch of the Military. Thank you to all of our Veterans!
Please plan to wear Red, White, and Blue tomorrow as we honor our Veterans during our Veterans Day Program. You are welcome to attend, and if you know a Veteran, please invite them.
The K-Kids raised $339.92 with the "Nickels for NC" service project and will be sending the money to Samaritan's Purse for Hurricane Relief in NC. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped collect donations!

After at least 25 years, there is new playground equipment on the Kindergarten/Pre-K playground. They were thrilled to be able to play on the new playground today.
