Andrews Community Input Session

The Georgetown County School District Board of Trustees has retained the South Carolina School Boards Association (SCSBA) to assist in their search for a new Superintendent.

In a collaborative and community-minded spirit the Board of Trustees is seeking input as an essential element of the search process. There are two ways parents and members of the community can participate:

First, an online survey will be available on the District’s website from June 1 through June 30.  The link for the survey is: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/79LW5WK .

Second, meet in person with members from SCSBA.  The SCSBA search team will lead meetings on June 11 and June 12 (schedule follows).  During each hour long meeting, the team will provide a brief overview of the search process and gather input on the following:

What characteristics, experiences, and professional attributes should the Georgetown County School District  Board of Trustees look for in the recruitment, screening, and selection process for the next Superintendent of Schools?

The in-person meetings are scheduled as follows:

  • June 11:  Andrews High School and Georgetown High School (Public and Media)

  • June 12: Carvers Bay Early College and Career High School and Waccamaw High School (Public and Media)

Meetings will be held in each school's auditorium from 6 PM - 7PM

Anyone wishing to provide any additional comments or ask specific questions may email Judy LeGrand, SCSBA Superintendent Search Coordinator, at

jlegrand@scsba.org . All comments and suggestions will remain anonymous. SCSBA will compile the information received from  the online survey and the focus groups and report the results to the Board of Trustees.
