Six of our Educators participated in an ArtsNow Conference this past June. They learned so much and were excited to work with the ArtsNow program during this school year.
ArtsNOW, a nationally recognized nonprofit organization, has visited AES several times this year. Their program helps integrate visual arts, music, dance, digital arts, and drama into academic lessons.
In September, students created artwork that helped visualize understanding of content in ELA, Math, Science, or Social Studies.
In December, our Pandas enjoyed ArtsNOW as they used the theatre strategy of Tableau to tell a story connected to content in ELA, Math, or Social Studies.
In January, ArtsNow demonstrated strategies to integrate music with other content areas. Students participated in lessons in which they used rhythmic speech and kept a steady beat to better understand a topic in ELA, Math, Science, or Social Studies.
We look forward to continuing to work with the ArtsNow program.
