Georgetown, SC – November 20, 2024 – The Georgetown County School District (GCSD) recognizes the dedication and service of three departing members of the Board of Trustees and celebrates the installation of new and reelected board members following the recent election.
During the November 5 Board of Trustees meeting, the district honored Mr. Bill Gaskins, Mrs. Lynne Ford, and Ms. Sandra Johnson for their combined 24 years of service to the students, families, and staff of Georgetown County. Mr. Gaskins and Mrs. Ford each served four years, while Ms. Johnson served an impressive 16 years on the Board. Their unwavering commitment to the district’s mission and their significant contributions were commemorated with heartfelt gratitude.

On November 19, GCSD welcomed three newly elected members to the Board of Trustees: Mrs. Kristie Baxley, Mrs. Fallon Bordner, and Mrs. Eileen Johnson, Additionally, two reelected board members, Mrs. Patti Hammel and Mr. Randy Walker, were reinstalled to continue their vital roles in guiding the district.

Superintendent Dr. Bethany A. Giles remarked, “Our outgoing members leave a legacy of dedication and leadership that has shaped the direction of our schools. At the same time, we are excited to embrace the fresh perspectives and continued commitment of our incoming and returning trustees as we work together to serve our students and community.”
