Pictures of the personnel with new positions

(Georgetown, SC) - During the July 16, 2024 GCSD Board Work Session, three key personnel changes for the 2024-2025 school year were announced: Deanna Stone has been named the Magnet School Assistance Program Project Director, Adrienne Watford has been named the Director of Special Programs, and Dana Fusco has been named the Interim Principal of Andrews Elementary.

Deanna Stone, who was serving as the district’s MSAP Grant AVID Coordinator, brings 24 years of educational experience, including 20 years with the Georgetown County School District. Before becoming the K-12 ELA District Curriculum Coach in 2018, Stone served as an ELA teacher and instructional coach at Carvers Bay Middle.

"I am honored and thrilled to take on the role of Magnet School Assistance Program Project Director in our district," said Stone. "This opportunity to lead and shape the future of education in the Carvers Bay community is truly exciting. I am eager to work collaboratively with stakeholders to create innovative learning experiences that will empower our students and pave pathways to success for their bright futures."

Adrienne Watford, joined the Georgetown County School District in 1998 as a teacher at Deep Creek Elementary. She has since served as a teacher at Pleasant Hill Elementary, instructional coach at Brown’s Ferry Elementary, Kensington Elementary, and Andrews Elementary, assistant principal at Andrews Elementary, and most recently as the principal of Andrews Elementary.

"I look forward to serving as the Director of Special Programs for Georgetown County School District," said Watford. "I am excited to work in this new role and to continue to be a part of the great things happening in our school district."

Dana Fusco joined the Georgetown County School District in 2021 as the assistant principal at Andrews Elementary. Previously, she served as a teacher, curriculum coach, and assistant principal in the Sumter School District. Fusco has 20 years of educational experience.

"I am very excited to continue my educational career as a Panda at Andrews Elementary," said Fusco. "I look forward to providing a student-driven environment, focusing on attendance, academics, and behavior. I am looking forward to a wonderful year of growing and learning."
