During the Special Called Board Meeting held on July 11, 2024, the South Carolina School Boards Association (SCSBA) shared results from the focus group meetings and online survey held as a part of GCSD's superintendent search. The focus groups were held on May 22, June 11, and June 12, 2024, and the online survey was available during the month of June. The purpose of the focus groups and survey was to gather input including desirable qualities for the new superintendent. The SCSBA recommended that the results be kept in mind while implementing the process of selecting the Superintendent and that the results be shared with the new Superintendent when he/she assumes the position.
