Georgetown County School District is pleased to announce that Nicole Tucker-Young was named the interim principal of Carvers Bay Early College and Career High School during the June 18 Board of Trustees Meeting. She will assume the position on June 24, 2024.

“Ms. Tucker-Young is an outstanding product of Georgetown County School District, and we are excited to welcome her back home. Her unique perspective as an alumna of the school will allow her to connect with students and families on a deeper level, and she has exactly the type of educational and leadership experience we look for in a principal,” stated Superintendent Keith Price.

Tucker-Young began her educational career in Georgetown County as a Global Career Specialist for three years and then moved to North Carolina to work as a Family and Consumer Science teacher at Lumberton Sr. High School in Robeson County for eight years. Most recently, she has served as the assistant principal of the Harnett County Schools Star Academy, a position she has held since 2020.

Tucker-Young holds a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences (Early Intervention) from Winthrop University and a Master of Education in Divergent Learning from Columbia College. She earned her School Administration certification from Gardner Webb University.

Congratulations and welcome home, Ms. Tucker-Young!
