Frequently Asked Questions

How many bags can each person bring?
One large clear bag plus a small clutch bag. Clear bags that do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12” are commercially available, or a clear one gallon plastic freezer bag may be used. A small clutch bag must be no larger than 4.5” x 6.5”.

Do I have to put everything I’m carrying into a permissible bag?
No. The procedure limits the types of bags coming into an event, not the type of items someone normally carries on their person, such as keys, makeup, comb, phone or wallet.

Can spectators carry cameras, binoculars, smartphones or tablets separately from what they put in the clear bag?
Yes. These items are allowed as long as they are carried by hand or placed in a clear bag. Cases or bags designed specifically to carry these items are prohibited.

What happens if I show up at an event with a bag that is not permitted?
Fans carrying prohibited bags will be refused entry at the gate. They will have the opportunity to return prohibited items to their car. Bags cannot be left at the gate or unattended anywhere on campus.

Are seat cushions or blankets during cold weather allowed?
Yes, but they are subject to inspection. They should not be carried in a bag or other container.

What do I do if I have certain medically necessary items that I need to bring into the event that will not fit in a clear bag?
An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection. A gate administrator will be able to assist with these situations.

Will the media or student athletes participating in the event be allowed to bring bags in the venue?
Yes. Members of the media with proper press credentials and student athletes participating in the event may bring equipment bags into the venue, however they are subject to inspection.

What happens if a gun, knife or other contraband is found during an inspection?
On-site law enforcement officers will be immediately notified if any contraband is found on campus. Guns, knives, drugs and alcohol are all prohibited at GCSD facilities.
