American Heart Association thanks GCSD

Thank you Georgetown County School district for your outstanding support of the American Heart Association.  Eight elementary schools and one middle school participated in the American Heart Association’s lifesaving service learning programs.  Elementary students were challenged to move more, be kind, or choose water over sugary beverages. Middle school students were challenged to move more, commit to no vaping or learn Hands Only CPR.  American Heart’s service learning programs goal is to instill healthy habits while funding much needed education, advocacy and research.   More than 800,000 people die each year of heart disease in the United states yet it is 80 percent preventable with small lifestyle changes.  We so appreciate the support of Superintendent Keith Price, our participating schools’  principals, coordinators, parents and children for saving and changing lives in our community and beyond.

Have a great day!
