The South Carolina Department of Education and the South Carolina State Library (SCSL) announced a partnership to address the continuing academic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The partnership will span the next three years and is funded through the American Rescue Plan's Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ARP ESSER).

State Superintendent of Education Molly Spearman said, “This partnership with the South Carolina State Library and Tutor.com will allow families additional, high-quality academic assistance at no cost."

Tutor.com, available for families 24 hours a day, seven days a week, offers students access to high-quality tutors in over 200 subject areas. Tutoring sessions take place in an easy-to-use online classroom, run through a web browser. This is not a general tutoring session. Students get assistance with specific questions through an on-demand session with any available tutor or through a scheduled appointment. Tutors do not simply give students the answer; they help students understand concepts, learn how to solve problems, and reach answers on their own.

Spanish-speaking tutors are available in all core subject areas.

Creating a Tutor.com account is optional. It allows you to store assignments and notes; connect with your favorite tutor; and submit papers for review.
