1. Application: Please click on the following link to access the GCSD current job postings. This will allow you to sign up for an account and start the application process. You will need to upload your resume, transcripts, letters of reference, and any certification documentation. (Classified positions may not require all forms to be uploaded) Please note, we are only accepting applications for vacancies; however, you can sign up for job alerts on the GCSD job posting site. For all certified position, please list your SC Certification number on the application. (It will start with either a 1, 2, or 3) https://gcsd.tedk12.com/hire/index.aspx

 

2. Teaching Credentials (Certified positions): If you possess a South Carolina teaching credential or an out-of-state teaching credential, please submit a copy with your application. Each teacher or employee is responsible for securing a valid South Carolina teaching credential. Please click on the following South Carolina Department of Education certification links to obtain information related to certification steps and requirements. 3. Interview: Once your application is completed online, the Office of Human Resources will be notified electronically. The principal/supervisor will select the top candidates to interview. If selected for an interview, an administrator from the school/department or a member of Human Resources will be in contact to set up the date and time of the interview. No prospective teacher is to contact any individual school or principal regarding an interview. The Office of Human Resources will screen all candidates for all certified and classified vacancies.

 

4. Recommendation for Employment: Principals/supervisors are responsible for making recommendations for all certified and classified vacancies to the Office of Human Resources' Executive Directors. The appropriate HR Executive Director recommends the employment of certified or classified candidates to the Georgetown County Board of Education at its regularly scheduled monthly meeting. Only the Georgetown County Board of Education has the authority to employ.

 

 

If you are recommended for the position, you will receive a phone call from the Office of Human Resources with an official offer. All offers are contingent on a clean background check and proper South Carolina certification/requirements. Regret letters will be sent to any interviewee who is not recommended for the position. As stated above, recommendations will be sent to and approved by the Georgetown County Board of Education. When a prospective certified or classified candidate has been recommended for employment, and approved by the Georgetown County Board of Education, a contract (certified) or a letter of agreement (classified) will be issued.
